Job Description

Seneca Gaming Corporation is a prominent enterprise known for operating in the hospitality and gaming industry, offering guests an exceptional experience through its casino and related services. The company is committed to maintaining high standards in customer service, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As an employer, Seneca Gaming Corporation values leadership, teamwork, and excellence, fostering an inclusive workplace where employees are encouraged to grow and thrive.

The Beverage Bartender, who also fulfills the role of Hospitality Shift Manager when needed, plays a crucial part in the corporation's food and beverage operations. This position is designed not only to provide exceptional drink service and customer interaction at the bar but also to take on higher responsibility by managing daily operations within the Food and Beverage and Facilities/Electronic Video Surveillance (EVS) departments during the absence of the Hospitality Manager. Working in this dual capacity requires a blend of customer service skills, operational oversight, administrative abilities, and leadership qualities.

In the primary role as Beverage Bartender, the individual is responsible for preparing and serving drinks with precision, engaging with patrons in a friendly and professional manner, and ensuring cleanliness and organization of the bar area. This includes managing cash transactions accurately, restocking supplies, and learning about the casino layout to provide customers with appropriate information. The job demands the ability to communicate well in English and the capability to work efficiently in a compact bar space while adhering to corporate policies, especially those related to information security.

As a secondary role, the Hospitality Shift Manager oversees the Food and Beverage operations alongside Facilities and EVS departments, assuming comprehensive administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, personnel management, and compliance with health and safety standards. This leadership position requires managing staffing levels, conducting performance evaluations, analyzing costs and profits, and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure smooth and profitable operations. The manager is also responsible for regulatory compliance, including liquor laws, health codes, and gaming board requirements, and for addressing any disputes or issues that arise among customers and staff.

Success in this role demands a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to solve problems tactfully. The position operates within a 24-hour schedule and requires completion of all mandatory training programs within the first nine months of employment. Additionally, the candidate must be physically capable of handling the demands of the casino environment, including standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, and working in environments where smoking is permitted.

Offering a competitive starting salary with the possibility for negotiation based on experience and education, Seneca Gaming Corporation provides an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and wish to contribute to an engaging and regulated gaming environment. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on bartending service and managerial responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates seeking to develop their leadership skills in a vibrant, customer-focused industry.
