Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques and nutrition
  • Must have reliable transportation for deliveries between locations
  • Must be available to work early mornings before 5 am
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work 55 to 60 hours per week based on seasonality and operational needs

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Minimum of 3 years in a pastry kitchen with hands-on preparation and cooking experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques, and nutrition

Job Duties

  • Craft dessert menu aligned with Kingstide and Post House concepts in collaboration with Executive Chefs and Culinary Directors
  • Prepare detailed recipe cards ensuring consistent preparation by pastry team
  • Motivate, teach, and maintain a positive culture among pastry cooks
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and accept feedback for recipe adjustments
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations following DHEC regulations including all relevant equipment
  • Report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues to Executive Chef
  • Participate in scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions
  • Ensure guest experience is the top priority
  • Coordinate, drive, and drop off pastry deliveries multiple times per week between Kingstide and Post House
