The Westin Bellevue epitomizes luxury and wellness-driven hospitality, aiming to empower guests to reclaim their wellbeing and be the best version of themselves during their travels. This commitment extends seamlessly to its employees, who are encouraged to embrace well-being practices and actively contribute to the brand's unique wellness programs.
The Westin Bellevue is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to join their dedicated team. This non-management position offers a competitive pay rate of $31.45 per hour and is not a remote role, allowing for direct engagement with the dynamic hotel environment and its exceptional staff. The HR Assistant will serve a crucial supportive role within the Human Resources department, facilitating smooth operations and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
In this role, the HR Assistant will provide vital assistance to management and leadership teams in resolving human resources issues and managing employee relations. Key responsibilities include assisting employees with internal and external transfer requests, supporting managers and supervisors in recruitment and employment-related processes, and coordinating various background checks such as drug screening, reference checks, motor vehicle records, and social security verification. The assistant will maintain meticulous records related to applicant flow, drug testing, orientation, and transfer applications, in addition to creating and updating new hire personnel files and inputting information into HR information systems.
The position also involves conducting new employee orientations, monitoring compliance with hiring laws and company policies, and ensuring accurate documentation of employee records, such as interview documents and I-9 forms. Payroll processing support may be required, as well as preparing various reports and handling telephone communications professionally. The HR Assistant will act as a subject matter expert in human resources, participating in project teams and training new employees on HR policies, programs, systems, and procedures.
Professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication skills are essential as this individual will interact with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring a positive workplace environment and supporting efforts to achieve collective goals. The role demands attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the physical capability to move light objects up to 10 pounds as needed.
The Westin Bellevue values employees who are passionate about wellness, optimistic, and adventurous, aligning with the brand's mission to be the leading wellness brand in the hospitality industry. Joining the team means becoming part of a global network that encourages personal growth and well-being while delivering top-tier hospitality services.
This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of relevant work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification. While no supervisory experience or licensure is required, candidates must be committed to adhering to company policies and maintaining a professional demeanor. The company is an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and inclusivity, and offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees.
Overall, the Human Resources Assistant position at The Westin Bellevue presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a thriving team in a prestigious hotel while growing within a company committed to employee wellness and development.
