Job Requirements

Must have the availability to meet the needs of the business
Ability to spend up to 100 percent of working time standing or walking around the store
Ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis

Job Qualifications

No previous retail experience required
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in use of technology to successfully engage in customer interactions such as register, register keyboard, iPhone, calculator
Ability to move with tempo to meet time-bound expectations
Professional, friendly and customer service focused
Demonstrate teamwork and support inclusivity
Open and responsive to coaching and feedback

Job Duties

Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at
Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members
Answer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders
Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment for customers and associates by clearing trash, organizing stock, cleaning restrooms and common areas
Receive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor per DSW standards, complete markdowns, maintain clearance standards, and organize the stockroom
Complete all functions of the fulfillment process including locating items, inspecting product condition, packaging and label placement ensuring readiness for pick up or delivery
Use company tools to search product availability to order for customers
Complete customer transactions accurately following DSW policies and procedures, provide correct change, and operate the register and calculator
Partner with the Customer Experience Leader to manage escalated customer situations and follow all asset protection policies and procedures
Actively participate in daily team meetings, ongoing training, and demonstrate teamwork and inclusivity
Be open and responsive to coaching and feedback
