Job Requirements

  • Must have the availability to meet the needs of the business
  • No previous retail experience required
  • Must have the ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store
  • Ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in technology use including register and calculator

Job Duties

  • Greet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at
  • Share the benefits of the DSW Loyalty program and enroll new members
  • Answer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment including clearing trash, restocking merchandise, cleaning breakrooms and restrooms, vacuuming, and housekeeping
  • Receive inbound freight, prepare and place merchandise on the sales floor per standards, complete markdowns, maintain clearance standards, organize and maintain the stockroom
  • Complete all functions of the fulfillment process including locating items, inspecting product condition, packaging and labeling for pick up or delivery
  • Use company tools to search product availability and order for customers
  • Complete customer transactions accurately, handle money and provide correct change, operate registers and calculators
  • Partner with management when customer service issues escalate
  • Follow all asset protection policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in team meetings and ongoing training
  • Be open and responsive to coaching and feedback
  • Demonstrate teamwork and support inclusivity
