The HVAC Delivery Driver & Warehouse Associate role is a critical position within Baker Distributing Company, combining the responsibilities of safe and efficient product transportation with warehouse management. This role involves daily delivery and handling of HVAC equipment and materials from the company’s sales centers or wholesale locations to customers, vendors, and other distribution points. As the key link between the warehouse and customers, the Delivery Driver & Warehouse Associate ensures that products are delivered on time, in excellent condition, and in compliance with safety protocols.
In addition to delivery duties, this role requires the ability to manage warehouse operations effectively. Tasks include inventory control, order picking and verification, and maintaining clean and safe workspaces. The warehouse function is essential to supporting the company’s logistical flow and sustaining seamless operation between deliveries. Safety is paramount, and the candidate must adhere strictly to company-wide safety policies, including using personal protective equipment, reporting hazards promptly, and participating in ongoing safety training. This position demands reliability, attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong customer service orientation.
Candidates for this role typically have at least one year of truck driving experience, preferably with box trucks, and may have relevant warehouse experience including forklift operation. Holding a valid Department of Transportation medical certificate and, ideally, a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is necessary to comply with transport regulations and ensure safety standards. Job Duties
- Represent Baker Distributing Company as a leader in the industry
- Daily loading and unloading of products in truck for delivery to customers and/or other Sales Centers
- Collect invoices with proper signatures and return to Sales Center Manager
- Assist in the warehouse with inventory counts, picking and verifying orders
- Responsible for daily checklist of truck maintenance and reporting in/out times with merchandise returns
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures
- Utilize personal protective equipment as required
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to management
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and drills
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all products to prevent accidents and injuries
- Follow all guidelines for the safe operation of the truck and other warehouse equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and workspace to prevent accidents and injuries
- Ensure all loading and unloading activities are conducted safely, using proper techniques and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
