Job Description

This job opportunity is with a reputable ready-mix concrete company that specializes in delivering high-quality concrete to a diverse range of industrial, commercial, and residential construction sites. The company prides itself on upholding safety, quality, and operational efficiency, ensuring that every batch of concrete meets the precise needs of its customers. With a strong emphasis on professional service and customer satisfaction, this company supports a dynamic team environment where safety protocols and continuous improvement are prioritized. Employees benefit from a structured work environment with clear roles and responsibilities, accompanied by competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

The role of Ready-Mix Driver is crucial to the company’s operations. It involves safely operating a ready-mix truck to transport freshly mixed concrete from the plant to various job sites. This position requires a professional who is not only skilled in truck driving but also knowledgeable in concrete handling and quality assurance. Drivers are responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness. Additionally, maintaining the cleanliness and proper functionality of the truck and mixer is part of the daily duties. The driver must adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including Hours-of-Service rules, and consistently wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

The job includes the critical task of inspecting the consistency of the concrete to ensure it meets required slump specifications, providing essential quality control for the product delivered to customers. Effective communication with dispatch, supervisors, and clients is essential to coordinate deliveries and to report any issues or hazards encountered on the job. The company values teamwork, professionalism, and positive interaction among employees and with customers, highlighting the Ready-Mix Driver’s role as both a skilled technician and a company representative on-site.

This is a full-time employment opportunity with a sign-on bonus program designed to attract experienced mixer drivers currently employed by ready-mix companies. The program offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments — $500 after training completion and $500 after three months of continuous employment. The role offers paid sick time, paid holidays and vacations, and benefits such as medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, presenting an attractive compensation package.

Candidates must possess a valid Class B driver’s license with a tanker endorsement and must have at least six months of experience driving ready-mix trucks. Maintaining a clean driving record without reckless driving offenses or DUIs is a mandatory requirement. Physical demands of the role require the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, perform considerable physical activities such as lifting and climbing, and work shifts that may last up to 16 hours with a maximum of 11 hours driving per day according to DOT regulations.

This position offers a challenging and rewarding career path for dependable, safety-conscious drivers who want to be part of a respected company in the concrete delivery industry, with opportunities for growth and professional development.
