Job Description

The hiring company specializes in the production and delivery of ready-mix concrete, serving a broad customer base that includes industrial, commercial, and residential clients. With a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, this company operates in the construction supply sector, specifically focusing on ready-mix concrete services. Known for its reliable and timely delivery, the organization values experienced professionals who can uphold its high standards and contribute to the smooth operations of the ready-mix plant and delivery system. This company offers a robust sign-on bonus program, providing $1,000 for experienced ready-mix mixer drivers currently working in the industry, split into payments of $500 after training and another $500 after three months of continued employment. This shows a strong incentive for experienced drivers to join the team and benefit from immediate rewards tied to their performance and commitment.

The role of the Ready-Mix Driver is a pivotal position within the company, central to both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position requires the safe and efficient operation of a ready-mix truck, delivering concrete to a variety of job sites while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations. The driver is responsible not only for transportation but also for supporting the plant's overall operations through equipment maintenance, thorough inspections, and strict adherence to quality standards, including checking concrete consistency and slump. Exemplifying safety-conscious behavior, the driver performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintains accurate DOT logbooks as necessary. Moreover, communication skills are important, as drivers must report potential hazards and maintain a positive, professional demeanor with coworkers and customers alike.

This position demands physical endurance, as drivers may need to work up to 16 hours daily, with a maximum of 11 hours spent driving, complying with hours-of-service regulations. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times is mandatory to ensure safety on-site. Drivers should possess solid knowledge of concrete products and mixer truck operations as well as an ability to work independently and follow directions carefully. This role is ideal for candidates with a Class B driver's license, tanker endorsement, and a clean driving record, who are equipped with the physical ability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

The employment package includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and accident coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid sick time, holidays, and vacation, weekly pay via direct deposit, and employee referral bonuses. Such benefits enhance the overall appeal of this full-time hourly position, reflecting the company’s commitment to employee well-being and job satisfaction. This role is an excellent opportunity for licensed and experienced ready-mix drivers seeking stability, competitive compensation, and ongoing support within a reputable concrete delivery company.
