This opportunity is for a Ready-Mix Driver to join the dynamic Cemex team. The Ready-Mix Driver plays a crucial role in the delivery of concrete to various job sites, including commercial and residential locations. This position demands professionalism, safety awareness, and mechanical aptitude to handle the concrete mixer truck and deliver per project specifications. The role requires the driver to navigate challenging terrains and ensure precise concrete placement using extension chutes when necessary. Handling and attaching these chutes, which may weigh from thirty to fifty pounds, is a physical aspect of the job requiring strength and careful technique.

Job Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B)
  • high school diploma preferred
  • driver must qualify as not prohibited in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • acceptable CSA and MVR record with no DUI/DWI in last five years and no more than three moving violations in past three years
  • ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to wear protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols
  • ability to work in diverse and outdoor industrial environments

Job Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B)
  • high school diploma preferred
  • driver must qualify as not prohibited in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • acceptable CSA and MVR record with no DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
  • strong understanding of safety protocols in construction and transportation
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and guidance from supervisors
  • knowledge of traffic routes
  • basic truck maintenance skills desirable

Job Duties

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
  • ensure the safe and timely delivery of concrete loads to job sites
  • adapt discharge methods to various site settings and conditions
  • attach and manage extension chutes as necessary for precise concrete pouring
  • maintain the cleanliness and mechanical soundness of the ready-mix truck
  • provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a professional image
  • coordinate with dispatch and team members for efficient operations
