The Ready-Mix Driver position at Cemex is an essential role ensuring the delivery of high-quality concrete to various commercial and residential construction sites. This role requires the operator to safely drive heavy-duty concrete mixer trucks, navigate challenging terrain, and adapt to diverse job site conditions. In addition to driving responsibilities, this role demands active management of the discharge process for concrete pours, including handling extension chutes weighing between thirty to fifty pounds. Attention to detail regarding safety protocols, vehicle maintenance, and customer service excellence are critical aspects of this job.

As a Ready-Mix Driver, the individual will be responsible for adhering to all pertinent safety and compliance standards to foster a safe working environment. The role offers the chance to work closely with dispatch teams to optimize delivery schedules and maintain seamless operations. It demands physical stamina due to frequent walking, lifting, and maneuvering of equipment at construction sites. The position places strong emphasis on mechanical aptitude to ensure the mixer truck remains well-maintained and in efficient working order.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A or B)
  • high school diploma preferred
  • qualify as not prohibited in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • acceptable CSA and MVR record
  • no DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
  • no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
  • strong understanding of safety protocols related to the construction and transportation industry
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and guidance from supervisors
  • knowledge of traffic routes and basic maintenance skills for truck upkeep desirable
