Job Description
Sifted is a pioneering culinary company founded in 2015 by Kimberly Lexow and Jess Legge with a bold vision to transform workplace dining through hospitality, sustainability, and intentionality. Distinguished from traditional caterers, Sifted operates as a nationwide food platform that nurtures culture, community, and environmentally conscious choices across hundreds of companies. Their innovative approach to office food redefines the dining experience by blending culinary excellence with a sustainable ethos, making them a recognized leader in the modern food service industry. The company’s strength lies within its dynamic and diverse team comprised of hospitality professionals, culinary experts, technologists, and innovators who collectively drive meaningful, stable, and opportunity-filled careers in hospitality. Employees at Sifted enjoy a unique work environment that fosters creativity, growth, and longevity, with staff retention rates three times higher than the industry average. The company invests significantly in flexible work arrangements, generous perks, internal mobility, mentorship, and continuous learning, cultivating a workplace where innovation and empathy thrive.
The Driver/Porter role on Sifted's culinary team is a crucial position within the company’s operations based out of its commercial kitchen space in Denver. This is a full-time position with a schedule running Sunday through Thursday, offering flexibility between afternoon and evening shifts. Compensation for this role ranges from $22 to $23 per hour. This role is perfectly suited for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and values the opportunity to contribute both on the road and behind the scenes in kitchen operations.
As a Driver/Porter, you will be entrusted with ensuring chef-prepared meals reach their destinations on time and in pristine condition by managing the delivery route from the Denver kitchen to a trainyard where meals are directly received by clients. This position requires impeccable driving skills, especially handling a 26-foot box truck, including precision parking in tight and stressful conditions. In addition to driving, the role involves client engagement where clear communication and professionalism are essential, requiring you to interface with clients directly, explaining delivery contents and details as necessary.
Beyond delivery responsibilities, the Driver/Porter supports kitchen staff by receiving and breaking down food shipments, managing dishwashing duties, maintaining cleanliness, organizing storage areas, and handling closing tasks such as trash and cardboard removal. The role demands physical stamina as it involves lifting up to 50 pounds and maintaining a diligent attitude to meet delivery schedules and assist in kitchen operations effectively.
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, and they are required to complete a specialized train safety course to safely access the trainyard delivery site. Eligibility for this role also includes maintaining a ServSafe Food Handler certification, an industry standard ensuring food safety and compliance. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience driving and handling 26-foot box trucks, coupled with hands-on experience in catering, service, or similar operational roles. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a natural leadership mindset are highly valued to support the team-oriented culture.
Sifted commits to a workplace infused with creative freedom, hospitality-driven service, and genuine career growth opportunities. This role embodies the company’s mission to create real impact by reducing waste, enhancing employee and client lives, and fostering community through quality food experiences. If you are motivated by a combination of driving responsibilities, culinary support, customer engagement, and want to grow with a visionary startup, the Driver/Porter position at Sifted offers a compelling career path with both purpose and progress.
