Founded by a Civil War veteran and pioneer, the company has grown to operate 15 locations across Nebraska and Iowa, serving central and northeastern Nebraska, southeastern South Dakota, and western Iowa. Gerhold Concrete Company takes pride in its commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, supporting a wide array of construction needs in its service areas. As part of CRH, an international leader in building materials, Gerhold Concrete Company benefits from a diverse and decentralized organizational structure that promotes growth, innovation, and a strong company culture.

The Driver - Mixer Truck position based in Seward, Nebraska, plays a crucial role in the delivery and quality assurance of freshly mixed concrete to various job sites. The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for safely transporting freshly mixed concrete from the plant to job sites, ensuring the material's integrity and timely delivery. This role demands adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including licensing, vehicle inspections, and hours of service requirements. In addition to safe driving, the position requires operating and performing minor adjustments to the mixer truck and concrete delivery equipment to maintain product quality.

This full-time role involves inspecting the truck at the start of each day, maneuvering the truck safely to job sites, and accurately placing the concrete using the truck’s controls and chutes. The driver must also maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck to prevent concrete buildup and ensure operational efficiency. Regular communication, following directions, and completing necessary paperwork are important parts of the job. Physical demands include climbing ladders to inspect the mixer drum, assembling concrete chutes, and lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Gerhold Concrete Company seeks individuals with a high school diploma or GED, preferentially with experience operating ready-mix trucks or related industries. The position requires a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a current medical card according to DOT standards. The driver must be at least 18 years old, pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check, and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read maps and instructions, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team are also key for success in this role.

Gerhold Concrete Company offers a competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and disability insurance, a group retirement savings program, health and wellness initiatives, and opportunities for career advancement within an inclusive and supportive company culture. Join Gerhold Concrete Company and be part of a historic organization that values safety, professionalism, and employee development.
