Their commitment to diversity and inclusion supports a welcoming workplace where employees can grow personally and professionally.
Airgas is currently hiring for a Local Delivery Driver position at their Sherman, TX Baker Dr location specializing in filling industrial gases. This role offers a competitive pay of $26 per hour along with the potential for quarterly bonuses, emphasizing both compensation and career growth. The work schedule is Monday through Friday during day shifts, promoting a healthy work-life balance for employees. Benefits begin after just 30 days of employment and include comprehensive family health coverages such as medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. Additional support for parents comes in the form of a 14-week paid childbirth benefit. Future financial security is reinforced through a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.
As a Local Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will serve as an ambassador for the company, ensuring the safe, reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers. Operating company-provided straight or box trucks, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building strong, lasting relationships with customers. The role requires adherence to rigorous safety standards as well as governmental safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Additionally, team members support warehouse operations as needed, contributing to a collaborative and efficient workplace.
This position requires candidates to possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License, a valid Medical Examiner's Card, and relevant hazmat and airbrake certifications. A minimum of one year of professional driving experience within the last five years is necessary, along with a clean driving record with limited violations or at-fault accidents. Physical requirements include the ability to lift between 25 and 75 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of heavier weights aided by material handling equipment. You must be capable of driving hazardous cargo for extended periods and able to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines. Moreover, forklift operation certification must be obtained to perform the essential job functions.
Joining Airgas means aligning with a top-tier company that values diversity, innovation, and safety culture. Employees enjoy returning home daily from reliable work, career advancement opportunities, and a supportive environment. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunities and accommodates individuals with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive work atmosphere. Airgas prioritizes not just what you do but who you are, encouraging employees to fill their potential and flourish in their chosen career paths.
