Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDL A license mandatory
- Minimum 2 years of CDL A driving experience within last 4 years
- Must meet Department of Transportation qualification requirements
- Valid TWIC card
- Required port experience
- Ability to comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing policies
- Physically able to perform duties including lifting and handling freight
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be able to operate semi-tractor and manual transmission if applicable
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening and background checks
Job Qualifications
- CDL A license required
- Minimum of 2 years CDL A driving experience within last 4 years, 3+ years preferred
- Meet D.O.T. qualification requirements, FMCSR 391.41
- TWIC card required
- Port experience required
- Tanker experience preferred
- Hazmat experience preferred
- Experience in load securement and route planning
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
Job Duties
- Drive semi-tractor/trailers on runs of up to one week or more
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and professional driving behavior
- Communicate with customer representatives in a respectful and efficient manner
- Coordinate with dispatchers for route planning and delivery scheduling
- Comply with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing
- Secure cargo properly and arrange it within the vehicle
- Ensure mechanical issues are corrected before driving
- Apply tire chains in inclement weather as required
- Perform pre-trip inspections and other duties as needed
