Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two to three years of commercial driving experience
- transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred
- friendly, outgoing, and courteous customer service demeanor
- a sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision
- must have a valid Class A license
- available to work long shifts and Saturdays
- basic English-speaking proficiency
- reside within the Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, Michigan area
- physically able to stand, sit, walk, and drive for prolonged periods
- regularly able to lift up to 80 pounds, occasionally over 80 pounds
- able to pass a Medical Examiner’s Certification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two to three years of commercial driving experience
- experience transporting temperature-controlled products preferred
- friendly and courteous customer service demeanor
- ability to work with limited supervision
- valid Class A license
- basic English-speaking proficiency
Job Duties
- Perform all pre-trip responsibilities to include checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries
- perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for vehicle
- drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route
- ensure vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs
- load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other appropriate devices safely
- verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product
- contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday
- perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and complete any necessary documents
- follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of product
- monitor and ensure that temperature-controlled vehicles maintain required temperature limits to ensure product quality
- develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs
- report any complaints to Supervisor
- collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices
- ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) are properly secured
- ensure that safety training is current as per company policy
- supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct
- other duties as assigned by supervisor
