The Tradition Senior Living is currently offering an exciting opportunity at its Houston - Woodway community for a full-time Commercial Driver. This position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the community by managing transportation needs aligned with the recreation calendar and under the direction of the Transportation Director. The Commercial Driver ensures timely and safe transportation for residents to various scheduled activities and appointments, thus enhancing their engagement and quality of life. In addition to driving responsibilities, this role includes assisting with event preparation, setup, and cleanup, recruiting participants for programs, and maintaining records of resident participation and interests. A key focus of the Commercial Driver is to promote positive relations and communication with residents, guests, employees, and family members, contributing to a warm and cohesive community atmosphere.

Reporting directly to the Concierge Director, the role demands a professional appearance and demeanor, along with the ability to handle concierge services related to transportation and social events. The ideal candidate should bring at least one year of experience in event planning, hospitality, or senior living, alongside excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a compassionate attitude. The Tradition Senior Living values employees who are dedicated, willing to learn, and physically able to meet the demands of the position, including sitting for long periods and lifting packages up to 30 pounds. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement (P), emphasizing the importance of safety and compliance.

Job Duties

  • Ensure transportation occurs timely and as scheduled per the calendar and appointments as directed by the Transportation Director
  • Utilize an energetic approach when communicating with residents
  • Ensure resident transportation schedule is carried out routinely and effectively
  • Get acquainted with every resident and complete resident interest surveys to better plan programs
  • Provide concierge services related to transportation and social events
  • Prepare for, set up, and clean up after transportation programs
  • Maintain positive professional relations with employees, residents, and family members
