The Delivery Driver role at Builders FirstSource is essential in ensuring that materials are delivered on schedule, safely, and in excellent condition to customer sites. This position involves driving trucks weighing over 26,000 pounds and possibly towing trailers, requiring adherence to strict safety and compliance regulations. Delivery drivers are responsible not only for transporting goods but also for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with loading and unloading, verifying order accuracy, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and completing required logs and inspections.
This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but demands a high level of professionalism, physical stamina, and attention to detail. Working in a production environment subject to temperature variations and other physical demands, drivers must be capable of lifting heavy materials and performing tasks that include climbing, pushing, and kneeling. Builders FirstSource prioritizes driver safety and compliance, requiring valid Class A CDL licenses, medical certification, and minimal moving violations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 21+ years old
- Valid driver’s license
- Class A CDL license
- Pass MVR report
- Obtain a DOT medical card within five days of request
- Have less than 5 moving violations in the last 5 years
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to read and speak the English language
- Minimum of 1 year delivery driving experience
- Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently
- Able to perform physical tasks involving climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling
Job Qualifications

- Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations
- Experience operating forklifts or material handling equipment preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering heavy materials
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities
Job Duties
- May load or assist with loading and appropriately securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle
- Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site
- Maneuvers vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensures that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
- Assists customers with unloading materials safely and accurately
- Takes all precautions to protect the product and the customers property
- Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries
- Checks items against invoice to ensure order accuracy
- Acts as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer
- Handles customer concerns and helps resolve issues as they arise
- Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles
- Performs routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines
- Required to use hand held devices, except for while driving, to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS
- Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures
- May perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork
- Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas
- Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers
- Attends periodic safety meetings as required
- May recommend changes to improve safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
