Job Description
Mondelēz International, a leading global snacking powerhouse, is renowned for producing some of the world’s most beloved brands such as Oreo, Ritz Crackers, Triscuit, Sour Patch Kids, and Swedish Fish. As a company committed to delivering delicious moments of joy, Mondelēz International operates a vast network of manufacturing plants, sales centers, and distribution facilities throughout the United States. The United States market stands as the largest within the Mondelēz International family, featuring a substantial employee base and a broad manufacturing footprint dedicated to crafting iconic snack brands. The company prides itself on making snacks the right way, at the right moment, ensuring accessibility and quality for its consumers nationwide.
This opportunity is for a Driver CDL-L located in Greenville, joining the Mondelēz International / NABISCO team. The role is vital in the company’s mission to lead the future of snacking by ensuring timely and safe delivery of high-quality products to various stores and warehouses. This is a full-time position with a demanding but rewarding schedule, generally consisting of Monday through Saturday shifts spanning 4-5 days per week. Working hours typically begin between midnight and 4 am, with routes lasting 10-12 hours and totaling around 40 to 45 hours weekly. The primary area of operation is interstate driving with a split of approximately 70% warehouse activities and 30% driving duties, although these percentages may evolve based on team needs.
As a Driver CDL-L, you will be entrusted with the safe operation and maintenance of delivery equipment including tractors, trailers, and pallet jacks. You will be responsible for performing critical daily service activities such as preparing receipts, maintaining truck logs, and recording maintenance information. Maintaining compliance with safety procedures and regulations is paramount to this role. You will operate under the guidance of the Route Manager or Dispatch, ensuring all assigned duties are performed efficiently.
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet all federal regulations established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), including holding a valid CDL-Class A license with at least one year of safe driving experience. Additionally, access to a military base facility serviced by this role requires possessing a valid REAL ID driver’s license, U.S. passport, or federal ID. Experience in direct store delivery (DSD) is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must be prepared to undergo and successfully pass drug tests, background checks, and motor vehicle record evaluations. Registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is mandatory, with resources provided to assist in this process.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a customer-oriented attitude, ensuring excellent support for key customers across the delivery routes. Must have familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, as well as local, state, and federal requirements governing food transportation. A basic understanding of temperature-controlled food transportation is also essential given the nature of the products handled. Proficiency with smart phones, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and delivery scanning tools is required to effectively log driving times and deliveries.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing routes and schedules are necessary attributes for this role. Additionally, the position requires the ability to work effectively outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures. This role offers an hourly pay rate of $28.95 plus eligibility for the Branch Incentive Plan (BIP) bonus, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, education-related support, and paid holidays and vacation time. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid by the company, demonstrating Mondelēz International’s commitment to employee well-being.
Joining Mondelēz International / NABISCO as a Driver CDL-L represents a unique opportunity to contribute to a prestigious company that values quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Through your dedication and professionalism, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to shaping the future of snacking with pride and purpose. This role not only fulfills the need for skilled drivers but also supports the company’s broader mission of delivering iconic snacks to consumers everywhere, fostering a culture of excellence within an inclusive and equal opportunity workplace environment.
