This position is a full-time opportunity focused on serving as a vital member of the Trinity Health PACE program’s transportation team. The primary role of the Transportation Specialist is to ensure the safe, timely, and comfortable transportation of PACE participants to various destinations, including medical appointments, community events, and meal delivery points. This role is crucial in supporting the holistic needs of elderly and frail populations who rely on dependable and courteous transportation services to sustain their independence and well-being.
The Transportation Specialist is responsible not only for driving but also for providing physical assistance to participants as needed during boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety at all times. The individual must be adept at operating vehicles that meet safety standards and comply with all relevant regulations. Flexibility is essential as the position requires adjustment to variable schedules and unforeseen changes based on participant needs and circumstances.
In addition to transportation duties, the specialist is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the vehicle and promptly communicating any concerns or mechanical issues to the Transportation Manager. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- associate degree preferred
- valid driver’s license with a clean record
- CDL with passenger endorsement for larger vehicles preferred
- flexible work schedule including weekends
- minimum one year of experience with elderly or frail populations preferred
- safe driving history of at least five years

Job Duties
- Safely transport PACE participants prioritizing their safety comfort and satisfaction
- adhere to schedules adjusting for unforeseen changes and participant needs
- operate vehicles in compliance with regulations and safety standards
- provide physical assistance to participants as needed during boarding and disembarking
- ensure that identified needs and concerns are discussed with the appropriate team members
- maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety
- promptly report any issues to the Transportation Manager
