Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a dynamic and culturally rich school district located in the Greater Boston area, conveniently accessible via the MBTA orange line train. The role being offered is for a professional driver responsible for transporting products safely and efficiently to and from various schools within the district. The driver plays a critical role in ensuring that goods and supplies are maintained properly during transit and delivered in a timely, organized manner. Responsibilities include daily vehicle maintenance checks, careful loading and unloading of goods, maintaining accurate logs such as odometer readings and fuel receipts, and adhering closely to all motor vehicle laws and district policies. This full-time position requires 35 hours per week, reporting to the Director of Food Services, and demands a commitment to professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be essential in supporting the operational logistics of Malden Public Schools, contributing not only to the district's efficiency but also to a positive and safe working environment by upholding all regulations and standards. This driver position fosters a critical link between the school district's central operations and its individual schools, ensuring smooth delivery of products that contribute to the daily function and success of the educational environment.

Job Duties

maintain a clean and valid driver's license
report all maintenance needs of the vehicle to management
drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading
load and unload product in a safe and neat manner ensuring goods are correctly stowed
communicate effectively with the office
deliver and unload goods at the required site
obtain receipts for goods delivered
perform daily vehicle checks and complete weekly vehicle reports
submit all gas receipts/cards promptly after refueling
maintain a daily odometer log
clean the vehicle daily
allow no unauthorized passengers in the vehicle
adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations
comply with all school district policies including delivery times, parking, and designated areas
assume responsibility for any traffic violations incurred while driving the company vehicle on company time
adhere to all management company policies
deliver and set up all catering as required
perform additional duties as assigned by management
