Job Description

Univar Solutions is a globally recognized leader in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients essential for daily life. Our products span a broad spectrum, including life-saving medicines, vitamins, hand sanitizers, and industrial materials used in cleaning and construction. With more than 9,500 employees worldwide, Univar Solutions is committed to redefining distribution and aims to become the most valued chemical and ingredient distributor on the planet. Our culture promotes diversity and inclusion, empowering our workforce by acknowledging unique experiences and perspectives while providing ample growth and development opportunities. We prioritize a Total Rewards package that supports our employees physically, emotionally, and financially through market-aligned pay, incentives, and diverse benefits.

The Driver/Material Handler position at Univar Solutions is a critical role that combines vehicle operation with warehouse material handling. This hybrid role requires the safe operation and maintenance of company vehicles, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to facilitate pickups, deliveries, and production support activities. A key responsibility is the safe transportation of hazardous materials and wastes in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies. The position also involves engagement in material handling duties within the warehouse environment.

This role requires adherence to various safety standards and regulations, including DOT regulations and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as they relate to Food Defense and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards. Candidates must possess the ability to operate industrial-powered forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively, with compliance to relevant governmental rules. The position is based at the Albuquerque, New Mexico facility and demands physical stamina and endurance, with duties involving lifting heavy loads of up to 100 pounds, frequent standing, walking, squatting, and bending. Workers are exposed to common industrial environmental elements such as fumes, dirt, noise, and occasionally hazardous chemicals, requiring adherence to safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection equipment.

At Univar Solutions, we are committed to fostering a respectful workplace where everyone matters. The Driver/Material Handler role not only offers the opportunity to build a sustainable career but also to contribute significantly to the safe and efficient delivery of essential chemicals supporting numerous industries and community needs. This is a full-time position, and candidates will undergo necessary training and must maintain required licenses, including a Class A commercial driver’s license with relevant endorsements for tanker and hazardous materials transport. Our team environment supports personal and professional growth, emphasizing employee wellbeing, safety, and community impact.
