Job Description
Knowledge Bar & Social Room is a popular nightlife venue known for its vibrant atmosphere, excellent service, and commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons. Located centrally for easy access, this establishment combines a welcoming social environment with top-notch hospitality practices. As a well-established bar, it offers a dynamic setting where people come to socialize, celebrate, and unwind. Whether it is a special event or a regular weekend night, Knowledge Bar & Social Room consistently delivers quality entertainment and exemplary guest service.
We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Door Watch/Admission Porter to join our team. This is a key position that plays an essential role in maintaining the safety and smooth operation of our venue during peak weekend hours, typically from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. The Door Watch/Admission Porter serves as the first point of contact for guests, responsible for verifying legal age, screening for appropriate conduct, and managing the entry flow to ensure a positive experience for all attendees. This role requires a vigilant, calm, and courteous individual who can handle challenging situations with authority and professionalism. You will work closely with bartenders, servers, and management to uphold all local and state regulations, particularly those relating to responsible alcohol service, and to foster a safe and welcoming environment.
The position affords competitive hourly pay and offers the chance to be part of a collaborative hospitality team within a lively social venue. The role involves greeting patrons, checking identification to confirm guests are 21 years or older, monitoring the entrance to regulate guest flow, assessing intoxication levels, escorting disorderly or overly intoxicated guests off the premises, and helping maintain cleanliness. This position requires standing for extended periods and occasionally physically escorting guests when necessary. Candidates should be at least 21 years old and possess strong interpersonal skills, with a calm and commanding presence under pressure. Previous experience in security, hospitality, or customer service is preferred but not mandatory. We provide training and ongoing support to help you succeed in this dynamic role.
