Job Requirements
- Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to stand and sit for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
- Ability to bend and twist neck up to 1 to 2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement and ability to perform fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
- Ability to make precise coordinated movements of fingers to grasp and manipulate objects
- Frequent foot movement, occasional squatting, crouching, or sitting on heels
- Occasionally walks, bends, and twists at waist
- Ability to lift 15 lbs sometimes up to 50 lbs
- Hearing acuity essential
- Color perception and vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and under oral or written instructions
- Willingness to handle exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms with appropriate protective equipment
- Ability to work in cold environments with personal protective gear
Job Qualifications
- Certified/licensed and educated as Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within guidance of oral or written instructions
- Experience with donor medical evaluation preferred
- Familiarity with safety and infection control protocols
Job Duties
- Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
- Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
- Assist in employee training
- Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program
