Currently, the Joliet Treatment Center, part of the Illinois Department of Corrections, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Office Associate to join their team. This is a full-time, salaried union position with an anticipated starting salary of $4,161 per month, with the full salary range extending up to $5,569 per month. The role is pivotal within the Health Care Unit, serving directly as the secretary to the Health Care Unit Administrator. The Office Associate is responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative duties, including keyboarding detailed documents containing medical and psychological terminology, acting as receptionist, and compiling vital statistics and reports for the unit.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask within a fast-paced office environment, and a professional demeanor. Precision in typing is essential, with a requirement to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute. This role demands proficiency with digital technology and tools to support departmental digital transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency and productivity.
The position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm, with weekends off, and is based at the Joliet Treatment Center located at 2848 McDonough Street, Joliet, Illinois. Job Requirements
- Ability to pass IDOC/IDJJ background check
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- Two years of office experience
- Keyboarding skills at 45 words per minute
- Ability to utilize digital tools and platforms
- Compliance with all vaccine and medical standards set by the employer
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
