Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • 1 to 5 years of management experience
  • Willingness to travel 50 to 75 percent
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in shop and outside weather environments
  • Strong understanding of safety and compliance regulations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Additional education in specialized fields such as vocational trade school or two-year college preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training
  • 1 to 5 years of previous management experience
  • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain vendor relationships
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Proficient in performance measurement and budget preparation

Job Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance requirements for third-party providers
  • Ensure compliance with Federal DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations by regularly inspecting and documenting supplier compliance
  • Develop and enforce supplier standards and score cards to assess performance
  • Review inspection results with facility supervisors and develop contingency plans
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions
  • Coordinate work schedules to ensure equipment and driver utilization
  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs and establish location-specific goals
  • Conduct asset inspections and customer satisfaction surveys
  • Prepare and submit budget proposals and adjustments
  • Develop and track key supplier performance measurements
