The role of District Manager for Washington State (WA) is a pivotal sales-driven position within Palm Bay International’s operational framework. This role focuses on achieving annual sales targets through strategic planning, customer account management, and active engagement with distributor partners. The District Manager is responsible for orchestrating a variety of initiatives, including distributor education, market visits, and the execution of promotional events such as supplier dinners and consumer tastings. By collaborating closely with the State Manager and distributor sales teams, the individual in this role ensures alignment with sales objectives and fosters strong, productive relationships with key retail and on-premises accounts.

The District Manager must be adept at developing monthly sales plans and programs, delivering training, and supporting distributor partners’ sales efforts. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in distributor or supplier roles
  • Experience in wine retail sales is preferred
  • Strong wine knowledge and ability to educate
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Superior organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to present in front of large groups

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Build relationships with distributor sales teams and key accounts
  • Work the market alongside distributor sales teams
  • Achieve sales goals and objectives within the assigned district
  • Educate distributors and conduct team meetings and special events
  • Participate in regular meetings and business reviews with supervisors
  • Prepare and execute supplier market visits, dinners, tastings, and sales meetings
  • Communicate weekly sales updates, market conditions, and issues to State and Regional Managers
