Wendy's is a leading global fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its fresh, high-quality food offerings and exceptional customer service. Established as a staple of the quick-service restaurant industry, Wendy's operates thousands of locations worldwide, each dedicated to delivering a superior dining experience that emphasizes fresh ingredients, menu innovation, and operational excellence. As part of a dynamic and rapidly evolving company, employees at Wendy's are offered opportunities for professional growth and leadership within a supportive and energetic work environment. The company values integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, making it an ideal workplace for driven professionals passionate about the food service industry.

The District Manager (DM) position at Wendy's reports under the direction of the Market Manager and is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational success of multiple Wendy’s locations, typically managing between five to seven stores. This role is critical in ensuring that each restaurant under their supervision meets rigorous standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and profitability. The DM is responsible for an extensive range of operational practices including staffing, full profit and loss (P&L) management, as well as training and employee development initiatives tailored to advance the capabilities of General Managers (GMs) and store personnel.

One of the core responsibilities of the District Manager is to develop and manage budgets effectively while maintaining control over operational expenses to maximize profitability across all assigned stores. Food safety and compliance with health regulations are top priorities; the District Manager ensures that all locations strictly adhere to company procedures and legal requirements, implementing corrective actions promptly when necessary.

Talent management is a crucial element of this role, where the DM conducts interviews, hires new staff, cross-trains team members, and undertakes disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies to maintain a productive and motivated workforce. The District Manager conducts regular visits to stores to monitor and uphold the standards of quality and cleanliness, ensuring each location operates smoothly and efficiently.

The role demands strong coordination and communication skills as the District Manager works closely with senior management to report operational progress, challenges, and results. This position offers a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid bonuses, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and both short and long-term disability coverage. A company-provided vehicle is also part of the compensation, facilitating efficient travel between assigned locations.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a District Manager or Multi-Unit Manager (MUM) in high-volume fast food or quick casual restaurant concepts, with previous Wendy's District Manager experience considered a strong advantage. The candidate must be willing and able to relocate to the Buffalo area, with potential relocation assistance available. Proficiency in managing financial results, staffing, customer evaluation indexes, food safety protocols, and customer service programs is essential.

This position requires a valid driver’s license in good standing, access to private transportation, and flexibility to work varied days and shifts as business needs dictate. Candidates must consent to comprehensive background screenings, including criminal, driving, and drug tests, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent with all legally required documentation. Effective leadership skills combined with excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities are vital to successfully lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
