ESS Support Services Worldwide is the specialty division of Compass Group, a global leader in food and support services. ESS Support Services Worldwide - Gulf of Mexico specializes in comprehensive support services including food and facility maintenance for clients working in offshore and remote land sites. This division proudly incorporates Alaskan native corporations, villages, and individuals who contribute to the ownership and managing of the catering, housekeeping, and facility support services. The District Manager position based in Anchorage, Alaska is a critical leadership role within Compass Group's offshore defense catering and janitorial operations. This role is salaried between $95,000 and $110,000 annually, with an additional 10% to 20% annual bonus opportunity reflecting the scope and responsibility of the role. The District Manager is responsible for driving excellence, ownership, accountability, and adherence to defined company pillars: Quality, Safety, Growth, Innovation, and Culture across all district sites. This role demands an experienced leader who can ensure consistent quality, safety compliance, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. A key aspect of this position is managing multiple remote and offshore sites which require the ability to lead diverse teams, coordinate complex operations, and maintain robust client relationships.

In the role, the District Manager oversees talent recruitment, training, and retention initiatives, fostering a culture that values high performance and employee engagement. The position includes financial oversight responsibilities such as managing profit and loss statements, forecasts, budgets, capital deployment, and ensuring compliance with purchasing and labor regulations. The District Manager must be skilled in interpreting financial data to maintain strong fiscal discipline across all managed sites. They also play a vital role in client governance and satisfaction by sustaining strong client relationships, conducting governance meetings, and implementing feedback loops to enhance operational delivery. Additionally, this role maintains strict compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards including HACCP, ensuring audit readiness, adhering to company policies, and enforcing accurate timekeeping practices.
