Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year experience in distribution dock work
  • Forklift certification
  • Ability to lift and unload shipments up to 50 lbs
  • Basic math and computer literacy
  • Proficient English communication skills
  • Ability to stand and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow instructions without detailed explanations

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-year experience as a dock worker or in a related field
  • Forklift certification
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Verify and keep record of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and counts of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading and manifests
  • Verify accuracy of freight location on the floor
  • Affix shipping labels or bills of lading on cartons and crates
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Use forklift, walkie rider, or pallet jack to load and offload trucks
  • Note and photograph exceptions when freight shows signs of damage
  • Report all problems promptly to supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Anticipate potential safety issues and initiate action to solve or prevent problems
