The Dispatcher role at UES is a pivotal position responsible for managing daily job coordination and scheduling for Field Engineering Technicians. This position requires a high level of organization and communication, ensuring efficient deployment of resources to meet client needs effectively. The Dispatcher acts as a central communication hub, liaising between clients and technicians using advanced dispatching software to optimize schedules based on project priorities, technician locations, and availability. This role also includes responsibilities related to laboratory logistics, such as organizing sample retrievals and managing equipment check-outs, including specialized nuclear technology instruments. The Dispatcher must maintain detailed records including work orders, purchase orders, and technician schedules to ensure seamless operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in dispatching or coordinating field staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use dispatching software and technology efficiently
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Compliance with safety standards
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in dispatching or scheduling roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance
  • Experience working in engineering, construction, or technical environments preferred

Job Duties

  • Communicate professionally with client representatives via phone and email for job assignments
  • Document conversations with clients and prepare work orders
  • Coordinate job assignments in relation to the location of Field Technicians using online dispatching software to maximize production and minimize travel time
  • Manage the scheduling, deployment, and time off usage of all Field Technicians
  • Organize laboratory sample retrieval and notify the Laboratory Supervisor of pending rushes
  • Maintain log of Nuclear equipment checked in or out and distribute dosimeter badges to Technicians
  • Assist the Productivity Project Manager when necessary with work orders and Technician paperwork issues
  • Obtain and organize all purchase orders prior to scheduling Technicians
  • Adhere and abide to all safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
