Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as Ohio EMT desired
- Certification as Emergency Medical Dispatcher (IAED EMD) desired or within three years of hire
- Obtain Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification within one year of hire
- Minimum two years previous EMS, law enforcement, or critical care dispatching experience preferred
- Ability to operate Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), emergency communications phone, and radio systems
- Ability to work flexible rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Ability to wear telephone headset for extended periods
- Ability to remain alert and manage high stress levels
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in unstructured environments
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as Ohio EMT desired
- Certification as Emergency Medical Dispatcher (IAED EMD) desired or within three years of hire
- Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification must be obtained within one year of hire
- Minimum of two years experience in EMS, law enforcement, or critical care dispatching preferred
- Experience in Helicopter Air Ambulance or Fixed Wing Ambulance dispatching preferred
- Experience as MedComm Transport Coordinator or Hospital Facilitator preferred
- Ability to effectively multi-task and communicate clearly under stress
- Proficient typing and computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively in stressful situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency medical transportation requests
- Assign appropriate air and ground units promptly
- Coordinate all mission aspects ensuring safety and timely resource deployment
- Monitor the location and status of all transport units continuously
- Maintain accurate records of patient documentation and transport details
- Initiate and follow the Post Accident Incident Plan as required
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners during high-pressure situations
