Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year management experience in full service stewarding operations
  • three years experience in hotel food and beverage
  • high school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in hospitality preferred
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers
  • able to resolve conflicts with guests, supervisors and employees
  • ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • basic computer skills in MS Office, reservation systems, and point of sales systems
  • ability to work long hours and flexible schedules
  • ability to stand for long periods, frequent bending, occasional stooping or crawling
  • ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and push or pull up to 150 pounds
  • good manual dexterity

Job Duties

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of food and beverage operations including kitchen, dish areas, restaurant line, banquet pantry, and walk-in coolers
  • washing and clearing counters, shelves, and kitchen mats
  • assisting cafeteria attendants and cooks with setup and breakdown and cleanliness of cafeteria
  • monitoring trash and recycling levels and removing when needed
  • washing pots, pans, kettles, skillets, and scrubbing floor drains
  • following all safety and security procedures
  • cleaning china, silverware, and glassware by dish machine or hand
  • stocking cook line with dishes and pans
  • polishing silverware
  • emptying dirty dishware from cafeteria and washing it
  • assisting in banquet function breakdown and dishwashing
  • providing genuine hospitality and teamwork by listening, apologizing with empathy, resolving guest problems, and ensuring 100% guest satisfaction
  • performing other duties as assigned by management to maintain service brand behavior and hospitality
