Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a utility galley or kitchen steward in hotel or ship operations
- Ability to work 7 days a week
- Must have a professional appearance and maintain good hygiene
- Ability to live in close quarters and share cabin space
- Physically capable of performing US Coast Guard-required tasks including lifting 40 pounds, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to follow safety and environmental protection policies
- Positive interpersonal skills and respectful behavior towards coworkers and guests
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in utility galley or similar role in hotel or ship operation
- Familiarity with United States Public Health regulations for sanitation
- Ability to work in a multicultural team environment
- Strong sense of hygiene and professional appearance
- Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
- Knowledge of cleaning chemical handling and the 3 bucket cleaning system
Job Duties
- Ensures proper cleaning and sanitization of assigned areas including pot washer, glass washer, and dish washer
- Maintains organized and stocked galley area with clean supplies and utensils
- Operates dishwashing equipment and coordinates maintenance issues
- Assists with setup and breakdown of special events as needed
- Supports food and service schedules within the galley
- Stocks and maintains cleaning supplies at the start of each shift
- Complies with safety and environmental policies and procedures
