This job opportunity is for the position of a Dishwasher, a critical role that ensures the kitchen and dining areas operate efficiently and maintain the cleanliness and safety standards expected by both guests and management. The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning all dishware, utensils, cooking equipment, and the overall kitchen environment to guarantee sanitary conditions. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to supporting the team in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Responsibilities also include general maintenance duties such as replenishing supplies, handling waste, and assisting with food preparation tasks when necessary.
The position demands excellent teamwork and communication skills to respond effectively to the needs of the kitchen staff and management. It also requires the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a friendly and guest-oriented attitude. No prior experience is required, though having six months to one year of related experience is preferred. Candidates must pass rigorous training tests with high scores and be at least 16 years old. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must take and pass all training tests with 90 percent or higher
- Ability to stand constantly, walk constantly, squat or kneel frequently, bend frequently
- Ability to lift and carry 11-20 lbs constantly and 21-50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to push/pull 10-25 lbs constantly and 26-40 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs or step ladder frequently
- Sense of sound, vision, smell, and touch
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including non-slip shoes, back belt, and safety gloves
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy, moderately noisy environment
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow all safety and food hygiene guidelines
Job Qualifications
- No experience necessary but six months to one year related experience preferred
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must take and pass all training tests with 90 percent or higher
- Guest oriented with ability to consider guest needs when performing duties
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to identify and correct safety hazards and operate equipment safely
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively listen and convey information

Job Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using mechanical dishwasher or by hand
- Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas and/or cooking lines
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Stock supplies such as dishes, pans, and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars as well as stock the necessary items on the Cooks’ Line
- Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving such as cleaning, peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables
- Assist in plating and garnishing desserts as needed
- Pull mats and sweep floors
- Clean garbage cans with water and detergent
- Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas
- Set up and/or break down dish station including properly assembling/disassembling dishwasher
- Utilize proper sanitizing agents
- Change water at least every 2 hours or more if needed
- Perform day to day maintenance within restaurant including replenishing batteries and light bulbs, break down cardboard boxes and deposit in appropriate receptacles
- Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, ceiling fans and fixtures, furniture, and equipment in food service area and other areas of restaurant
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies either manually or by using hand trucks using proper safety methods
- Notify managers of need for major repairs
- Notify supervisor of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Report to work as scheduled and on time, follow all policies regarding attendance
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns, personal, employee or guest injury
- Follow food safety program guidelines of handwashing, bare hands, hygiene and health
