This position is within a professional food service establishment focused on maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to ensure safe and efficient food preparation and service. Other duties involve polishing silverware, cleaning glassware using specialized brushes, and managing supplies transport between storage and work areas. The person will also participate in setting up banquet tables and peel or wash vegetables as necessary. These duties ensure hygiene and readiness for all food preparation and serving activities.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Sweeps and mops floors
  • washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers
  • steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
  • sorts bottles and breaks disposable ones in bottle crushing machine
  • washes pots, pans and trays by hand
  • scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to dishwashing machine
  • polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth
  • holds inverted glasses over revolving brushes to clean inside surfaces
  • transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of a hand truck
  • sets up banquet tables
  • washes and peels vegetables using a knife or peeling machine
  • may perform cleaning duties for banquets and conventions
  • required to be always in uniform when working on the property including wearing name identification badge
  • supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company
  • performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs
