Job Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Some prior kitchen experience preferred
Basic understanding of food handling and safety practices
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts
Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, standing for long periods
Good physical and emotional health
Willingness to undergo background, criminal, and drug tests
Ability to work extended hours up to 16 hours
Comfortable with exposure to infectious materials and working with residents who may be emotionally upset

Job Qualifications

High School diploma preferred or GED accepted
Some kitchen experience desirable
Basic knife skills required
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Organizational and time management skills
Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
Physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift up to 40-50 pounds, and stand for extended periods
Excellent communication skills

Job Duties

Follow the posted work schedule and arrive on time in appropriate work attire
Responsible for proper washing of china, flatware, glassware, and kitchen equipment including machine rinse pressure and water temperature
Maintain the kitchen and assigned areas in a sanitary condition
Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with kitchen personnel and residents
Be familiar with food-handling procedures and regulations
Operate kitchen appliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machine
Assist with food preparation, inventory, maintenance, food deliveries, and stocking shelves as needed
