Job Description
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a distinguished boutique hospitality brand known for its commitment to heartfelt, human connections and creating meaningful experiences for both guests and employees. Founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton in San Francisco, the company defied generic hospitality norms and introduced a unique, personable approach where connection and authenticity are valued above all. This ethos remains the cornerstone of Kimpton’s culture and service philosophy. The company fosters an environment where diversity, individuality, creativity, and self-leadership are celebrated. Employees are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work, contributing to a lively, irreverent, and empowering work atmosphere that distinguishes Kimpton from traditional hospitality providers.
The role offered is for a vital team member in the restaurant operations, specifically focused on ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and supporting various service staff such as cooks, bussers, bartenders, and servers. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness expected in the boutique hospitality environment and plays a key support role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The job is critical to the seamless operation of the restaurant as it involves both physical tasks such as washing dishes, glassware, and silverware, and logistical support, such as restocking supplies and waste management.
Working at Kimpton means embracing versatility and teamwork—employees often wear multiple hats, extending beyond the defined duties to support overall restaurant functions. The role requires careful attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and the stamina to handle physically demanding tasks. Furthermore, the position demands flexibility with work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the dynamic needs of hospitality service.
The compensation for this role starts at $21.30 per hour, recognizing the varied contributing factors like education, experience, and job performance that influence final pay placement within the range. Kimpton is committed to fairness and transparency in pay, although adjustments might be made depending on organizational needs and market conditions. Beyond remuneration, the company offers a culture anchored in support and inclusiveness, where every team member's contribution is valued.
In essence, this position is ideal for candidates who are dedicated, hardworking, and passionate about enhancing others' lives through excellent service. Candidates with prior experience and relevant certifications like a Food Handler Certification (when applicable) are preferred. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to be part of a unique hospitality brand that strives to make a positive impact on its community, guest experience, and workplace culture every day.
