The role of a Dishwasher at MBK Senior Living plays an integral part in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the dining and kitchen areas of the senior living communities. Responsibilities in this role include the transport, sanitization, and cleaning of all dishes and kitchen utensils following meal service. Dishwashers ensure all cooking tools, pots, pans, and eating utensils are cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining sanitation levels in compliance with community safety policies. They also contribute to general kitchen and dining area cleanup, including sanitation of sinks, machines, tables, and storage areas.

Dishwashers at MBK Senior Living are expected to consistently monitor and document the sanitizer levels and temperatures to meet health and safety standards. They assist cooks as needed and serve residents when called upon, supporting the broader dining experience. Inventory management of cleaning supplies and timely communication regarding stock needs are also part of the role’s daily duties.

Physical demands include standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and mobility in transporting heavy or bulky kitchenware. Candidates must be at least 18 years old or have appropriate work permits, complete required background and health screenings, and preferably hold a Serve Safe certificate. Experience in food service or restaurant operations is advantageous.

Job Duties

  • prepares, cleans and organizes dish storage and washing areas in accordance with all community safety and department policies and procedures
  • washes all dishes, eating utensils, cooking tools, pots, pans, etc. as needed ensuring all items are properly sanitized and stored
  • completes general cleanup and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas including sinks, washing machines, tables, cooking ranges, shelves, cabinets, etc.
  • empties trash
  • ensures the sanitation levels of the dish machine and sinks are within the required range by utilizing the correct test strips
  • ensures that the water is at the correct temperature to ensure optimum cleaning, rinsing and sanitizing
  • maintain temperature and level of sanitizer logs, recording at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
  • transports food to the CFL program for all meals, ensuring that the correct temps are maintained during transportation, and returning cart to kitchen in a timely manner
  • assists cooks as needed
  • serves residents as needed
  • ensures proper cleaning supplies are in inventory and properly used - notifies supervisor when new supplies need ordered
