Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience
  • Six months to one year experience in a restaurant environment or similar experience
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence
  • Ability to remain alert and focused in a noisy and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
  • Must frequently immerse hands in water
  • Requires the ability to multi-task
  • Requires the ability to understand and implement directions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Must maintain professional conduct and communication at all times

Job Duties

  • Wash all glassware, pots, pans, utensils and kitchenware either by hand or using the dishwasher
  • Set up sanitation stations throughout the kitchen
  • Collect and dispose of all garbage from containers into the compactor
  • Replace garbage bags as appropriate
  • Wash garbage containers
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors, walls, fixtures and equipment as deemed necessary
  • Clean all carts, rolling racks, warmers, and refrigerators
  • Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety and sanitation
  • Clean all stainless-steel tables and counter tops
  • Clean grill and griddle, along with disposal of any and all grease
  • Clean and change out oil from fryers as deemed necessary
  • Clean ovens, steamers and steam tables
  • Clean and maintain drains in the kitchen
  • Correctly place and store clean equipment, dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas
  • Replenish paper towels and soap for hand washing stations throughout the kitchen
  • Assist with stock and deliveries
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed
  • Keep track of both the chemical and dry good inventories
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and hotel functions
  • Report any and all wear and tear of furniture and/or equipment, as well as and safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
