Job Description
RiverWoods is a highly regarded organization, recognized as Northern New England's largest family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). Since its inception in 1994, RiverWoods has been committed to making things better for people every day. The company operates multiple communities united by a single philosophy: to provide community and peace of mind to its residents. They believe that aging should be a fulfilling and enriching experience, offering opportunities for a productive and rewarding life. With a focus on creating a supportive environment, RiverWoods delivers exceptional living experiences for seniors, emphasizing a caring and vibrant atmosphere where every team member plays a crucial role in fulfilling the organization’s mission. Working at RiverWoods means joining a dedicated and passionate team within a bright, attractive, and thriving community, making it an excellent place for anyone seeking a meaningful and long-term career in senior living and community care.
The Per Diem Dishwasher role at RiverWoods is a vital position within their culinary team. This role is designed for individuals who wish to contribute to a resident-focused community by maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas. The position offers competitive pay starting at $15 per hour or more depending on experience and the benefit of a 403(b) retirement plan. Additional perks include wellness programs, the ability to get paid daily through a partnership with DailyPay, on-site fitness opportunities, an employee meal program, and educational assistance.
As a Per Diem Dishwasher, you will be responsible for cleaning dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and silverware using both manual and machine methods. The role requires transporting clean and dry tableware to appropriate locations in the dining rooms and kitchens, cleaning work areas, steam tables, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment regularly. You will assist with food preparation by cutting, peeling, and washing fruits and vegetables when permitted. This position also involves responsibilities such as removing garbage from kitchen areas, thorough sweeping and mopping of floors at the end of shifts, and adhering to daily sanitation cleaning schedules. Additional tasks include checking in and stocking groceries, discarding damaged glassware after consultation with the Sous Chef, and providing set-up and breakdown support during special functions as well as food delivery to various areas as needed.
This role is suitable for candidates who are at least 16 years old, and no prior experience is required, making it an excellent opportunity for those new to the workforce or looking to gain experience in a supportive and structured environment. The position requires flexibility as it involves working nights, weekends, and holidays according to the community’s needs. RiverWoods values individuals who are dedicated to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, teamwork, and contributing positively to the well-being of residents. By joining RiverWoods as a Per Diem Dishwasher, you have the chance to be part of a community that cares deeply about enhancing the quality of life for older adults while enjoying a stable job with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.
