The Dishwasher (Kitchen Helper) position is a part-time, merit-based role located fully on campus at the General Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. This position has a defined schedule rotating biweekly with shifts from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm and offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.31.

The role of Dishwasher (Kitchen Helper) involves performing routine cleaning duties in the General Hospital food service area under direct supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards that support safe food handling and hospital operations. Duties include using appropriate cleaning equipment, cleaning designated kitchen areas, dish room, and restrooms, transporting soiled and clean dishes, and emptying trash and recyclable material containers. This work directly supports a hygienic food preparation environment vital to patient safety and the hospital’s operational efficiency.
