Job Description

This job opening is for the position of Dishwasher/Prep at a reputable restaurant that prioritizes cleanliness and hygiene in its kitchen operations. The Dishwasher/Prep role plays an essential part in the restaurant by ensuring all glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils meet stringent cleanliness and sanitation standards.   • Must complete Serve-Safe program after hire
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Prior dishwashing experience in a restaurant environment preferred
  • Ability to read and/or understand labels on chemicals
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative

Job Duties

  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
  • Sorts and stacks clean dishes
  • Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas
  • Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
  • Changes dishwater in dish machine on routine basis
  • Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
  • Removes trash and garbage to dumpster
  • Sets up and breaks down dishwashing area
  • Performs other duties related to cleanliness of kitchen as assigned
  • Prepares food according to standardized recipes and assist in private events on and off site
  • Ensures compliance with applicable Health Department codes
