Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- willingness to work various shifts including weekends
- ability to work in confined, crowded spaces with variable noise and lighting
- must adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines
- no use of illegal drugs or alcohol during work hours
- successful completion of drug and alcohol test within 90 days when applicable
- compliance with uniform and appearance standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a similar dishwashing or sanitation role preferred but not required
- ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- basic knowledge of dishwashing equipment operation
- strong attention to detail and focus on cleanliness
- effective communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Wash, sanitize and dry items placed in the dish area or as requested by management or staff
- safely wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils and equipment
- ensure the cleanliness of all items washed and sanitized in the dish room
- follow proper dishwashing sequence, according to restaurant specifications
- maintain a pace sufficient to prevent back up of dirty dishes, glasses, etc
- read a thermometer, maintain dishwashing machinery and identify potential problem areas
- safely and efficiently operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
