Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • willingness to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to work in confined, crowded spaces with variable noise and lighting
  • must adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • no use of illegal drugs or alcohol during work hours
  • successful completion of drug and alcohol test within 90 days when applicable
  • compliance with uniform and appearance standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar dishwashing or sanitation role preferred but not required
  • ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • basic knowledge of dishwashing equipment operation
  • strong attention to detail and focus on cleanliness
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Wash, sanitize and dry items placed in the dish area or as requested by management or staff
  • safely wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils and equipment
  • ensure the cleanliness of all items washed and sanitized in the dish room
  • follow proper dishwashing sequence, according to restaurant specifications
  • maintain a pace sufficient to prevent back up of dirty dishes, glasses, etc
  • read a thermometer, maintain dishwashing machinery and identify potential problem areas
  • safely and efficiently operate and utilize the dish machine and cleaning supplies
