Job Description

The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation is a community deeply rooted in tradition, history, and a sense of shared purpose. The ancestors of this Tribe lived centuries ago as a close-knit community relying on farming, hunting, and fishing for survival. Over time, the Sycuan Nation has evolved significantly while maintaining its core values of community and cooperation. Today, the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation and owns and operates a state-of-the-art Casino and a beautiful Golf Resort. These establishments are complemented by a diverse portfolio of other business ventures within the San Diego region, allowing the Tribe to create economic opportunities and foster cultural preservation.

Working for Sycuan means being part of more than just a business; it means joining a community that works together toward a common goal. Whether employed in the Casino, the Resort, or the Tribal Government division, staff members are considered part of the Sycuan family. This unique environment offers employees a chance to grow professionally while contributing to a dynamic and culturally rich organization.

The role of Dishwasher at Sycuan is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and safety that the Tribe’s hospitality and food service departments are known for. This role is hourly paid and involves providing the kitchen with an adequate supply of clean pots, pans, utensils, and dishware. A Dishwasher’s responsibilities are vital to ensuring kitchens operate efficiently by performing tasks such as scraping, racking, stacking, washing, unloading dishwashers, and manual cleaning of utensils when necessary. Proper maintenance of sanitation standards through comprehensive cleaning of counters, shelves, walls, ceilings, and equipment also falls under this role. Additionally, the Dishwasher helps maintain kitchen safety by organizing soiled items, managing spills, and using caution signs where appropriate.

Working at Sycuan as a Dishwasher is more than just a job; it offers the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to delivering an exceptional guest experience. Teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to health and safety procedures are essential aspects of the role. The position requires physical stamina including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, stand or walk for prolonged periods, and perform bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Employees in this position will also undergo mandatory training related to health and safety, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.

Joining Sycuan as a Dishwasher means becoming part of a respected Tribal enterprise that values professionalism, personal development, and community engagement. Candidates who appreciate being part of a respectful, organized, and community-focused workplace will find this role rewarding. Sycuan offers a welcoming atmosphere where respect for cultural heritage and commitment to quality service combine to create a truly special employment experience.
