The role of Dishwasher at Sunrise Senior Living is integral to the smooth operation of the dining and kitchen services. This position is responsible for cleaning and janitorial duties in zones related to food production and consumption, including the kitchen, dining room, bistro, private dining rooms, and serveries or pantries. The Dishwasher ensures that all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment are sanitized according to stringent food safety and sanitation guidelines. Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment is fundamental to the role, alongside adhering to national and provincial health and safety regulations. This includes proper storage and rotation of food and supplies, completing daily cleaning logs, and handling equipment maintenance reporting.

In addition to standard dishwashing, the Dishwasher may assist with light food preparation, plating, bussing, and resetting tables per company standards. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
one year job-related experience preferred
CPR certificate and First Aid certificate may be required
ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required
ability to handle multiple priorities
effective written and verbal communication skills

ability to perform physical demands of the job

Job Duties

Set-up and maintain the dish and pot washing areas
operate dish machine(s) according to manufacturer instruction
perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
maintain accurate dish machine and pot and pan sink temperature and sanitation logs and report any issues promptly
maintain accurate equipment logs and report any issues promptly
complete assigned kitchen cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
clean assigned kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods and ventilation screens
perform assigned janitorial duties, including sweeping work areas, mopping floors, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
assist with food preparation and plating when necessary
maintain the correct storage of all cookware, china, glassware, and utensils
maintain the correct storage of all janitorial and chemical supplies
assist in the receiving, storage, dating, labeling, and rotation of food and non-food supplies
comply with occupational health and safety regulations and follow safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets, and Lockout Tagout procedures
clean and maintain the dining room and bistro to company standards
bus and reset tables
take and deliver food orders
prepare and serve light meals per established recipes and menus
participate in team goals and demonstrate Team Member Credo
serve residents through Principles of Service
contribute to engagement programs
attend meetings
maintain compliance in training
perform other assigned duties
