The role available is an entry-level position focused on dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen area of Whole Foods Market. This position plays a critical support function in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and hygienically, which directly impacts the overall customer experience and the store's commitment to health and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen. Additionally, they will assist with kitchen deliveries, ensuring that products are stored properly, organized, and rotated to meet quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Duties

  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
  • maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
  • assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • follows and complies with established procedures including health and sanitation and safe work practices
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
