The Dishwasher position at Porter Hospitality plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the kitchen, bar, and dining environments. This full-time role, headquartered in Seattle and compensated at $22 per hour plus tips, is essential for upholding the health and safety standards required in a high-volume hospitality setting. The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools, employing both commercial dishwashing machinery and manual methods when necessary. Beyond cleaning, this role includes assisting with basic food preparation tasks, managing kitchen waste, and organizing kitchen and storage areas. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ year experience working in a kitchen or hospitality setting preferred
  • Food handler's permit required or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to assist with food prep
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting preferred
  • Food handler's permit required or willingness to obtain upon hire

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize all dishware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools using commercial or manual methods
  • Maintain a clean and organized dish station and kitchen workspace
  • Properly sort, store, and transport clean dishes to designated locations
  • Assist with receiving and stocking kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation
  • Remove trash and recyclables regularly, maintaining cleanliness in waste areas
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations including proper chemical handling
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic prep work such as washing produce and peeling vegetables
  • Support front-of-house staff by keeping glassware and bar tools clean and available
  • Work efficiently during peak service hours in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, drains, sinks, and back-of-house workspaces
  • Assist in deep cleaning tasks like scrubbing equipment and cleaning walls
  • Ensure kitchen linens are properly laundered and stored
  • Collaborate with the team to support smooth kitchen and bar operations
  • Adapt to indoor and outdoor work environments supporting special events and catering
