Job Description
Whole Foods Market is a nationally recognized American supermarket chain specializing in organic foods, natural products, and sustainable grocery items. Founded in 1980, the company has grown into a leader within the grocery industry, known for promoting healthy eating habits, environmental stewardship, and community support. With a strong commitment to nourishing people and the planet, Whole Foods Market is more than just a grocery store; it is a hub for conscious consumers who value quality, transparency, and positive social impact. The company’s initiatives include funding grants for school gardens, enhancing access to fresh and healthy food in food deserts, and tackling global poverty by supporting sustainable development projects.
An opportunity to join Whole Foods Market means becoming a part of a culture dedicated to meaningful change and personal growth. Employees at Whole Foods Market are encouraged to not only excel at their roles but also contribute toward the company’s broader mission of improving public health and well-being while fostering environmental sustainability. As a Dishwashing Team Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the kitchen area, helping to ensure that food preparation environments meet rigorous health and safety regulations.
This role is hourly, with wages ranging from $16.50 to $25.40 per hour depending on experience. Whole Foods Market offers a competitive benefits package known as "Whole Benefits," which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, paid time off, store discounts, and access to other employee-focused programs. Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase. Whole Foods Market promotes fair and equal employment opportunities, accepting applications without discrimination and valuing diverse backgrounds and skills.
The Dishwashing Team Member is responsible not only for ensuring all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils are properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized but also for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen space including floors, walls, mats, drains, and shelves. This position requires an individual with strong time management skills, a passion for cleanliness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Communication skills are essential to support teamwork and excellent customer service. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended hours, and working under varying temperature conditions. This role typically includes a flexible schedule that may involve nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working at Whole Foods Market means contributing to a workplace where sustainability, quality, and customer care are at the core of everything done. Team Members who embrace the company’s values help drive the ongoing revolution in the grocery sector by setting new standards for excellence in food retailing. Your dedication allows Whole Foods Market to continue being a leader in providing fresh, natural, and organic foods while enriching communities locally and globally. Joining Whole Foods Market as a Dishwashing Team Member is not only a job; it is an opportunity to be part of something bigger—impacting health, environment, and society with every task performed.
