Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of job related experience preferred
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machinery safely
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Completion of designated training and certifications such as CPR, First Aid, ServSafe, or local food handler permits as required by law
  • Willingness to comply with occupational health and safety regulations and Sunrise Senior Living policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to perform additional assigned duties as needed

Job Qualifications

  • One year job related experience preferred
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Completion of CPR certificate and First Aid certificate may be required
  • ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required

Job Duties

  • Set up and maintain the dish and pot washing areas
  • Operate dish machine(s) according to manufacturer instruction
  • Perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
  • Maintain accurate dish machine and pot and pan sink temperature and sanitation logs and report any issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and report any issues promptly
  • Complete assigned kitchen cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
  • Clean assigned kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods and ventilation screens
  • Perform assigned janitorial duties including sweeping work areas, mopping floors, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
  • Assist with food preparation and plating when necessary
  • Maintain the correct storage of all cookware, china, glassware, and utensils
  • Maintain the correct storage of all janitorial and chemical supplies
  • Assist in the receiving, storage, dating, labeling, and rotation of food and non-food supplies
  • Comply with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety and Risk Management programs and policies, adhere to safety rules and regulations, and practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Perform other Dining Services duties when assigned by community leadership such as cleaning and maintaining the dining room and bistro to company standards, bussing and resetting tables, taking and delivering food orders, and preparing and serving light meals according to standardized recipes and menus
  • Participate and commit to working toward team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
  • Contribute to overall engagement programs for residents and team members
  • Attend regular meetings including Town Hall, Department Team, and Cross Over meetings
  • Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
