Job Description
Shade Eatery at Higgins Beach Inn, located in Scarborough, Maine, is a renowned establishment known for its fresh local food and exceptional hospitality within a fine casual dining atmosphere. This restaurant prides itself on emphasizing fresh local seafood, accompanied by innovative daily specials that highlight the best that Maine's coastal region has to offer. Catering to an appreciative clientele seeking quality and freshness, Shade Eatery offers a vibrant and engaging dining experience in a welcoming environment. The seamless blend of fine casual dining with attentive service has positioned Shade Eatery as a preferred destination for both locals and visitors alike.
The dishwasher role at Shade Eatery is a pivotal position within the Food & Beverage department, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. This seasonal full or part-time opportunity runs through October 26th, 2025, and is an excellent fit for individuals looking to contribute to a high-volume operation during the busy summer and early autumn months. The dishwasher will play a crucial role in ensuring that all dishware, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils are impeccably cleaned and sanitized, maintaining the stringent sanitation standards that uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. With an hourly wage ranging from $17 to $19 and expected hours between 20 and 40 per week, this role offers competitive compensation in line with the demands of the position.
This role offers individual training and the chance to develop professionally within a supportive and team-oriented environment. Dishwashers at Shade Eatery will be challenged by the fast pace of this popular location, but they will benefit from comprehensive team support and the opportunity to contribute directly to the overall customer experience. The position requires a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Applicants can expect to gain valuable experience in a dynamic culinary setting, honing skills that may open pathways to other roles within the hospitality industry. As part of the benefits, the establishment offers discounted stays and food and beverage options at affiliated properties, creating added value for team members. This role is ideal for motivated, hardworking individuals eager to be part of a quality-focused, locally celebrated restaurant team.
